How we create, review, and maintain the accuracy of our content
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Southeast Addiction is committed to providing accurate, evidence-based information about addiction, treatment, and recovery. As a publisher of health-related content, we understand the critical importance of clinical accuracy and adhere to strict editorial standards.
Our content serves a YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) purpose — meaning inaccuracies could directly impact readers' health decisions. We take this responsibility seriously.
Content Review Process
Every article published on Southeast Addiction undergoes a rigorous review process:
Research & Drafting
Content is researched using peer-reviewed journals, government health databases (NIDA, SAMHSA, NIH), and clinical guidelines. All claims are backed by verifiable sources.
Clinical Review
All medical and treatment content is reviewed by a licensed clinician with relevant expertise (MD, PsyD, or equivalent). Reviewers verify clinical accuracy and ensure recommendations align with current evidence-based practices.
Editorial Review
Content is reviewed for clarity, readability, and adherence to person-first language. We ensure all information is accessible to a general audience while maintaining clinical accuracy.
Publication & Monitoring
Published content includes the author's credentials, reviewer's credentials, publication date, and date of last review. Articles are scheduled for periodic re-review to ensure continued accuracy.
